Six people killed in wildfires across Algeria

Algeria is facing a severe wave of wildfires, with more than 170 fires reported across multiple provinces in recent days amid extreme heat.

Of those, 130 fires have been brought under control, while crews continue working to contain the rest.

The blazes have torn through forests, farmland and orchards, hitting the eastern provinces of Skikda, Béjaia, El Tarf and Annaba hardest.
