Three students were stabbed at Americas High School in El Paso, Texas, Friday morning as classes were getting underway. All three were transported to a hospital and are listed in stable condition.
The Socorro Independent School District confirmed that one person — described only as the “alleged aggressor” — was taken into custody by SISD police. The district has not released the suspect’s identity, age, or any charges. No details have been confirmed about what weapon was used or what led to the attack.
Worth noting: this isn’t the school’s first
Americas High School had a separate, unrelated stabbing incident in February 2020, in which one student was seriously hurt and a second was injured trying to intervene.
What we still don’t know
The weapon involved, the suspect’s age or relationship to the victims, and any motive. SISD has said it will provide another update; we’ll follow up when it does.
