U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina) has died at age 71.

The DC medical examiner’s office said the preliminary cause of death is aortic dissection due to arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease.

Graham was found unresponsive at his Capitol Hill home in Washington, D.C., after experiencing chest pains. Paramedics responded to reports of cardiac arrest.

The senator had recently returned from a trip to Kyiv, Ukraine, where he met with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
