Police said the suspected gunman, a 45-year-old German man of Turkish origin, had an appointment at the centre earlier in the day to discuss custody arrangements for his three-month-old daughter. He opened fire after the meeting.

The man was arrested following a short chase after attempting to flee in a vehicle with a 55-year-old woman believed to have family connections to him. Two other people were also detained.
